What does Ruul do?

Ruul serves as a Merchant of Record (MoR) for freelancers.

This means Ruul handles the reselling of your services to clients, while also managing international payments and billing on your behalf. Simply put, Ruul takes care of the financial side, so you can focus on delivering your work.

What Ruul isn't:

Ruul isn’t a marketplace or job board for finding clients or gigs. Instead, it helps you manage invoicing and payments for the clients you already have.

How to get started:

Follow these simple steps to start sending invoices and receiving payments with Ruul:

What about taxes?

Sales tax

If your client's company is registered in a country where sales tax applies, it will be automatically added to the invoice.

Example: Companies registered in Türkiye need to pay 20% VAT, which is automatically added to the invoice amount.

Income tax

Every citizen is responsible for declaring all income earned, regardless of where it is earned, in their home country. Payments made to freelancers through Ruul are considered freelance or self-employment income. It is recommended to consult an accounting expert for assistance with taxation.

How my client pays?

When you create an invoice, your client will receive an email with a payment link and a proforma invoice PDF.

Your client can pay directly through the link without needing to sign up for Ruul.

Payment Options

  • Bank Transfer

    • The bank account details for the payment will be displayed on the screen during the payment process.

    • Your client must include the invoice number in the transfer description.

    • Payments must come from a corporate bank account registered to their company.

  • Credit Card

    • For some clients, credit card payments may not be available for the first invoice, depending on where their company is registered.

    • If this happens, the credit card option will be enabled after the first invoice is paid via bank transfer.

Once the payment is completed, a commercial invoice will be sent to both you and your client.

Sample invoice?

If you're curious about the type of invoice your client will receive from Ruul, here’s a sample.

Please visit Sample Invoices for more details. Note that the invoice format may vary depending on where your client's company is registered.

Am I eligible to use Ruul?

For security reasons, Ruul excludes users from countries on the FATF black list and most on the grey list.

Please visit Supported Countries and Currencies to see the full list of ineligible countries alongside other important details.

If you’re from an ineligible country but reside and receive payments in an eligible one, you can still use Ruul by providing proof of residency and using a bank account from the eligible country.
