What is a Merchant of Record (MoR)?
A Merchant of Record (MoR) is the official seller of your digital services and products.
It handles payments, taxes, compliance, and invoicing on your behalf, so you can focus on your work instead of administrative tasks.
Ruul takes care of client payments end-to-end: your clients purchase through Ruul, and you receive your payout from Ruul.
This setup ensures full legal compliance and protects both you and your clients during each transaction.
What is a Payment Request?
A Payment Request is a secure way to receive payment from your client once you’ve completed your work.
How it works
You create a Payment Request
After completing a project or task, you generate a Payment Request and send it to your client through Ruul.
The request includes details such as the amount, currency, and a short description of the work.
Your client receives an email link
The client receives an email containing a secure payment link, generated by Ruul as the Merchant of Record.
They can complete the payment using one of the supported payment methods (e.g., credit/debit card, bank transfer, etc.).
Commercial invoice is issued
Once the payment is completed, a commercial invoice is automatically issued from Ruul to your client, on behalf of your work.
A copy of this invoice is also shared with you via email.
Payment transfer to your account
After Ruul receives the payment, standard compliance and security checks are performed.
Payments are typically transferred to your Payment Collection Account within 24 hours after successful verification.
Key things to know
Ruul acts as the Merchant of Record (MoR) for all transactions.
Your clients don’t need a Ruul account to make a payment.
You can track the status of each Payment Request from your Talent Dashboard.
Security & Compliance
Ruul ensures all payments are processed according to international financial compliance standards, providing a secure, transparent, and compliant payment experience for both you and your clients.
